Pool Heaters
Heat pumps, gas heaters and solar—choosing, repairing and sizing the right one for a Southwest Florida pool.
Understanding pool heaters
Even in Southwest Florida, pools drop into the low 60s and 70s from December through March. A heater is what turns a three-season pool into a year-round one.
Heat pumps move heat out of the air and are the most economical to run here, but they slow down when air temperatures fall below the mid-50s. Gas heaters heat fast on demand and are the right pick for spas or occasional weekend use. Solar is the cheapest to run and the least controllable.
Whatever the type, correct sizing and a matched flow rate matter more than brand. An undersized heater simply never catches up.
Comfort Wave MAX Series Pool & Spa Heaters
Comfort Wave MAX Series heat pumps are AHRI-rated and made in the USA in Cape Coral, Florida—built for the exact conditions our pools live in. Two models cover most Southwest Florida pools and spas.

Engineered for comfort
A 1/2 horsepower fan motor turns an oversized 26-inch blade, pulling more heat out of the surrounding air. It spins at just 825 RPM, so you get strong heating performance you can feel without hearing the unit run.
Comfort at your command
Integrates with virtually any pool automation system, including heat/cool operation through an auxiliary relay. A remote-enabled thermostat mode lets the unit listen only to the automation system, so renters or guests cannot change your settings.
Built for lasting comfort
A rust-proof, impact-resistant polymer (ABS) cabinet is made for Florida's outdoor conditions. The housing dampens vibration and sound while protecting the internals, and the layout keeps service access simple.
The comfort of confidence
Backed by an industry-leading 10-year parts warranty and 3-year labor warranty, so the investment is protected for the long run.

Output is shown at the AHRI 80/80/80 rating (80°F air, 80°F water, 80% humidity) along with the coefficient of performance—the higher the COP, the more heat you get per dollar of electricity.
Not sure which size you need? We size the heater to your pool's surface area, how you use it, and whether you have a cover—then give you an honest estimate of monthly running cost before you commit.
What homeowners notice
- •Heater runs but the water never reaches the set temperature
- •Unit short-cycles, or shuts down with an error code
- •Ice or heavy condensation on a heat pump coil
- •Rust, scale or water leaking from the heat exchanger
- •Heating costs that have climbed noticeably year over year
What Eden does
- 1
Use and sizing review
How you actually use the pool, its surface area, and whether you have a cover determine which type and size fits.
- 2
Diagnosis for existing units
We test flow, pressure switches, sensors, gas supply or refrigerant charge before recommending anything.
- 3
Repair
Common fixes include pressure switches, control boards, sensors, fan motors and descaling the heat exchanger.
- 4
Installation
New units are set on a proper pad with correct plumbing, electrical or gas supply and bonding.
- 5
Setup
We set schedules and temperature targets that keep the pool comfortable without heating it around the clock.
Common questions
Which heater is best here?
For most Southwest Florida homes a heat pump is the best balance of running cost and consistency; gas suits spas and infrequent use.
How long do heaters last?
Roughly 8-12 years for heat pumps and gas units, longer with annual service and balanced water.
What affects the cost?
Heater type and size, electrical or gas line work required, and whether the equipment pad needs reconfiguring.
